Spracklen's Valley Farm

Hi!  Thank you for visiting us!  We are the Spracklen family:  Alan, Crissy, and boys.

Alan has been farming ever since he can remember.  Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, he has always known what he has wanted to do.  Farming is not just a job to us, it is a way of life.

Alan was able to purchase his first farm in 2002.  Since then, we have been able to restore our 1868 farmstead, turn it into our home, and grow our business.  There have been many changes throughout the years.  The most exciting addition has been putting up fence and bringing in livestock.  Prior to this, the farm was used solely as a grain operation.  In 2003 we invested in our own group of cattle.  In 2006, we bought a small flock of sheep.  The quality of our animals continues to grow and we enjoy seeing the results of time and patience, and hard work.

Our farm sits on approximatley 400 acres in a valley in southern Clark County in Springfield, Ohio.  Most of this ground is used for growing corn and soy beans.  The remainder of the ground is pasture,  hay fields, woods, and a small wildlife area next to the north fork of the Little Miami River.  The house itself was one of the first built in Greene Township and still holds a bit of history.  Although there have been many updates, there is still  a feel for "the good ol' days".

"Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
